Privacy Policy for Sidenote

Sidenote is a browser extension that helps users save and organize prompts and answers from supported AI chat websites.

Sidenote may process the following data to provide core features:

• - Website content (chat prompt/answer text on supported pages)
• - User-created saved content (scraps, prompts)
• - Extension preferences (panel settings, UI preferences)

Sidenote does not intentionally collect:

• - Passwords or authentication credentials
• - Payment or financial account data
• - Health data
• - Precise location data
• - Unrelated browsing history
• - Creditworthiness or lending-related data

We use data only to provide extension functionality, including:

• - Saving prompt/answer pairs
• - Managing prompt library and scraps
• - Rendering index/navigation UI in supported chat pages
• - Remembering extension settings

• - Data is stored locally in the user’s browser by default.
• - We do not sell user data.
• - We do not transfer user data to third parties for unrelated purposes.

Sidenote uses browser permissions only for required features:

• - storage: save scraps, prompts, and settings
• - tabs: open extension pages (Scraps, Prompts, Settings, Help)
• - activeTab: interact with the currently active supported chat page
• - Host permissions: detect chat content and render in-page actions/UI on supported sites

Users can delete saved scraps/prompts at any time within the extension. Removing the extension also removes access to extension features; local data behavior may depend on browser storage policies.

Sidenote is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal data.

We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
